About this project
The Cappel Project was a complete waterfront backyard transformation in Lauderdale by the Sea focused on modernizing the property’s marine infrastructure while improving functionality, aesthetics, and vessel accessibility along the Intracoastal Waterway. Shortly after purchasing the home, the owner wanted to refresh the aging waterfront layout and create a cleaner, more usable outdoor environment designed for long-term enjoyment and boating convenience.
APH Marine Construction began by removing the existing dock system, fencing, and outdated landward decking areas to prepare the property for a fully upgraded waterfront renovation. The existing seawall then received a concrete cap raise built to current code requirements, improving both the structural integrity and finished elevation of the shoreline system. To complement the updated seawall, the team constructed a custom composite dock featuring premium marine-grade materials and Dek-O-Block pile finish systems, creating a clean, modern waterfront appearance with minimal long-term maintenance requirements. The project also included installation of a 20,000 lb Neptune boat lift equipped with a high-performance G6 motor system. Because the property is located directly on a high wake-energy section of the Intracoastal Waterway, rapid lift speed and vessel clearance were critical considerations during equipment selection. In high-traffic marine environments like this, minimizing the amount of time a vessel remains exposed to wave action during lift operation can significantly reduce stress on both the boat and lift system. For this location, the G6 motor configuration was the ideal solution for fast, efficient, and reliable vessel retrieval. The completed project transformed the waterfront into a clean, modern marine living space designed to balance durability, performance, and elevated coastal aesthetics.
