Ocean Ridge

Truline Hybrid Seawall, Dock & Boat Lift Installation

Location: Ocean Ridge, FL

About this project

This Ocean Ridge, Florida waterfront project was completed as part of a new residential construction, allowing our team to design and install critical shoreline infrastructure before the home and landscaping were finalized. The scope of work included the installation of a new Truline Hybrid Seawall system, a concrete dock, and coordination of a 27,000 lb G6 Neptune Boat Lift, all executed in close collaboration with the general contractor.

One of the most unique aspects of this project was the presence of a pressurized main water line feeding the island, located directly within the seawall alignment. Thanks to the modular 1-foot panel design of the Truline Hybrid Seawall system, our team was able to carefully work around the active utility without compromising its integrity. While the line required extensive protection and precision throughout the installation, the flexibility of the hybrid system significantly reduced the risk of rupture and allowed the project to move forward safely.

Additionally, subsurface conditions revealed a consistent rock layer approximately 5 feet below the mud line. Based on the project’s geotechnical soil report, each seawall panel was engineered and pinned directly into the rock layer, providing enhanced structural stability and long-term shoreline protection. This intentional engineering approach ensures the seawall performs reliably under South Florida’s demanding coastal conditions.

The project site was located within a wake zone near an active channel, adding another layer of complexity to the installation. Despite these challenges, the project progressed smoothly through careful planning, sequencing, and coordination with the GC. Construction was completed in stages over roughly three months, including tieback coordination, seawall installation, dock construction, and boat lift placement—each phase aligned with the overall construction schedule.

This Ocean Ridge project exemplifies our philosophy when it comes to new construction waterfront homes: When everything is being built brand new, the seawall is not the place to cut corners. By investing in properly engineered coastal infrastructure from day one, homeowners and builders protect the property’s foundation, shoreline, and long-term value.
